Final US Machine Tool Report Caps Recovery Year

<p> AMT’s December new-orders summary brought the 12-month total to $4.52 billion, up 8% year-to-date </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p style="text-align:center;"> <img src="/membcentre/editor/attached/image/20180214/20180214102805_52308.jpg" alt="" /> </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p> Domestic machine shops and other manufacturers ordered $446.8 million worth of new capital goods during December 2017, bringing total new orders for the 12-month period to $4.52 billion, and closing out a year that demonstrated U.S. manufacturing recovery on a wide scale. &nbsp; </p> <p> <br /> </p> <p> The figures are provided by the Association for Manufacturing Technology in its monthly U.S. Manufacturing Technology Orders (USMTO) report. The results show new orders rising 5.5% from November but falling -8.2% from the December 2016 totals. </p>
