Vikram Bedekar Named Fellow by The International Academy for Production Engineering

This is one of the most distinguished honors in the field of production engineering, which focuses on designing, developing, implementing and improving processes, systems and equipment for manufacturing quality products efficiently and reliably.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">“Vikram’s recognition as a CIRP fellow is a testament to his profound impact on manufacturing science and engineering,” said Ryan Evans, director of research and development at Timken. “His pioneering work in advanced materials and surface engineering, coupled with his commitment to international collaboration and technical leadership, exemplifies the spirit of innovation that drives our company forward. With only 160 CIRP fellows worldwide and just 20 in the United States, this recognition is among the highest distinctions in the discipline. Bedekar becomes only the second CIRP fellow from Ohio, underscoring his exceptional achievements in research and innovation.</span></p><p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px;">Bedekar joined Timken in 2005 and currently leads materials development initiatives, specializing in advanced coatings, surface engineering and materials science for industrial applications. He earned his Ph.D. in materials science and industrial engineering from The Ohio State University. He also holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arkansas and a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from COEP Technological University, Pune, India.
